About the Journal
“Journal of Ultrasonography” gets an IF!
We are proud and pleased to announce that “Journal of Ultrasonography” has joined the elite group of periodicals with an Impact Factor (IF).
Our IF for 2022 is 1.1 (5-year IF – 1.2).
I want to extend my sincere thanks to the Members of the Scientific Committee, Section Editors, Authors, and Reviewers. This success is your success. The IF is a testament to your effort and hard work over many years. Without your invaluable contribution, we would not be in the place we are today.
We hope that in the coming years we will be able to consolidate our position – and even strengthen it ‒ by publishing even better papers with a greater citation potential.
This will only be possible with your continued support, so we will greatly appreciate your unwavering commitment, good-quality publications, careful reviews, and plenty of citations (mainly articles from 2021 and more recent studies). All these elements are essential if we want to enjoy an even better IF score next year.

Journal of Ultrasonography
The “Journal of Ultrasonography” is the official journal of the Polish Ultrasound Society (PTU). The mission of the journal is to promote ultrasonography among medical professionals representing various specialties as well as to present the current state-of-the-art and the results of original studies involving ultrasound imaging.
The journal publishes:
- original papers;
- review papers;
- short communications – describing the preliminary results of empirical studies of special importance, the course and the preliminary results of original empirical studies or original technical solutions;
- letters to the editor – presenting justified author’s opinions on a given topic, recommendations for clinical practice.
The journal is a quarterly published in English and Polish.
Notice to Subscribers
We would like to inform you that, by the decision of the Management Board of the Polish Ultrasound Society, from 2020 the journal will be released in an electronic version only. Fees paid for subscription will be returned: the editors will contact the subscribers and agree on the details.
We would also like to inform that it is possible to order a printed version of given volumes at request. The interested Readers are asked to contact the editors (the cost will be determined after an individual cost estimation): redakcja@jultrason.pl
The journal does not have article processing charges and article submission charges.
The publication of “Journal of Ultrasonography” is co-financed by the Ministry of Education and Science under Contract No. RCN/SN/0707/2021/1, as part of the “Development of Scientific Journals” project.
The title of the task: Journal of Ultrasonography – publishing activity in the years 2022–2024.
The aim of the programme is to improve publishing and editing practices, increase the impact of the journal on the development of science and to expand its presence in the international scientific circulation.
The tasks will be carried out by implementing an anti-plagiarism programme, developing a system for processing manuscripts, internationalisation (professional translation and proofreading of papers published in English), as well as disseminating publications in databases and promoting the journal abroad (promotional campaigns, dedicated newsletters, etc.).
The subsidy amounts to PLN 60,000.
